Drag Rope Double-Unders

We decided to do a jump rope challenge for the month of January this year toget everyone more comfortable with double-unders. The challenge is to do 10,000 DU’s for the month (other options of 1000 DUs, 1000 SUs, or 1000 TUs). Needless to say, there is a lot of jumping rope going on at the box this month.

I decided to incorporate learning how to do drag rope DUs using a rope from RX Smartgear because an upcoming
CrossFit comp has these in one of the WODs.  Swinging one of these is quite a bit different than a typical rope but once you get the hang of it, DUs with other ropes feel much easier and a lot less tiring!  Here are some tips mentioned in the video that are helping me:

1)   Stay on the balls of your feet, jump quicker and with
more power

3)   Elbows in, maintain a hollow position tilted slightly
forward

They are pretty inexpensive ($25) and a great add to your bag if you feel DUs with your regular rope are getting too easy 🙂
