Bootcamp, Spartan, and DEKAFIT

It is hard to believe that Revolution Fitness started about 4 1/2 years ago. It began two years after we worked with Spartan Race to create the first ever family-focused obstacle course race (OCR) right here in Naperville’s Frontier Park. We put on another OCR a year later, with added CrossFit elements, and then opened-up the gym. Back then and now, we were and still are the only gym around that consistently offers both CrossFit and Spartan SGX bootcamp training. Fast forward to today and you see how these two sports have started blending together, most notably with longer endurance-type events being added to CrossFit, Spartan adding a CrossFit/OCR challenge at it’s 2019 World Championships, and now with the start of the new DEKAFIT series that combines elements of both sports.

As it relates to Spartan and DEKAFIT, we continue to offer classes 5 days each week (MTRF evenings and Sundays). These classes are more body-weight focused and typically involve a longer workout after a strength skill section. While we do not use barbells often, we make really good use of medicine balls, Wreck Bags, kettlebells, rowers, cardio equipment, and the great outdoors.

DEKAFIT SPARTAN SGX Workout February 9, 2020

These classes are taught by very experienced racers and while the gym continues to produce podium-level athletes, the classes are designed for all, are great for beginners, and are an absolute blast! In addition to learning how to climb ropes, jump over walls, and cruise through monkey-bars, these classes will test and build your resilience.

If you are curious about these classes, we invite you to trial a class for no charge by signing-up via this link. These classes are the ones in red. Hope to see you!
